Do Curuguaty 18-21.07.2012

Paragwaj nie jest krajem zbyt popularnym turystycznie a to zasadnicza różnica, mająca wpływ na charakter podróżowania. Nie zmierzaliśmy do żadnych konkretnych turystycznych atrakcji, co nie znaczy, że kraj takowych wcale nie posiada. Do najciekawszych należy Park Defensores del Chaco w odległych południowo-zachodnich rejonach kraju, jednak dotarcie tam na rowerze i zorganizowanie ekspedycji wymagałoby zbyt wiele czasu, którego niestety już nie mieliśmy 🙁 Pedałowaliśmy więc po prostu w określonym kierunku, jadąc od wioski do wioski i przyglądając się paragwajskiej codzienności, otwarci na to co ciekawego spotkamy po drodze. Podczas tych dni, spędzonych w Paragwaju, zdecydowanie na pierwszym planie znaleźli się ludzie. Nie skażeni wpływem masowej turystyki i wszystkimi jej konsekwencjami, okazali się nad wyraz otwarci i spontaniczni. W żadnym kraju lokalni mieszkańcy nie reagowali na widok nas i naszego roweru aż tak żywiołowo! Każdy postój zamieniał się w prawdziwy teatrzyk i sesje zdjęciowe. Widząc nas na drodze niektórzy często okazywali entuzjazm, krzycząc, śmiejąc się do nas i wymachując rękami bądź też nawołując wszystkich sąsiadów. Niektóre reakcje były całkiem nieprzewidywalne. Pewien człowiek na wózku inwalidzkim, niesprawny umysłowo i fizycznie, kiedy zobaczył nas na rowerze i  pomachaliśmy mu na przywitanie, wpadł w taką euforię, że próbował opuścić swój „pojazd”! Tak więc wszędzie, gdzie się zatrzymywaliśmy zaraz zbierał się tłumek gapiów. Każdy chciał nas obejrzeć, każdy chciał z nami porozmawiać, niektórzy podążali za nami motorkami lub samochodami, żeby przyjrzeć się z bliska jak pedałujemy a potem wracali do wsi.

Poza wioskami jechaliśmy sobie spokojnie, obserwując okolicę. Droga, którą zmierzaliśmy w stronę miasteczka Curuguaty miała nawet dość szerokie pobocze i nie musieliśmy się stresować jazdą tak, jak w Argentynie. Wioski były rozsiane wzdłuż drogi w niewielkich odległościach i choć zaopatrzenie w sklepach było mało ciekawe, to jednak nie musieliśmy się martwić brakiem dostępu do wody i żywności. Otaczała nas wciąż „tierra colorada” czyli czerwona ziemia jak w prowincji Misiones w Argentynie. Jednak Argentyna pozostała daleko za nami. Tutaj otaczało nas mnóstwo małych, ubogich chatek, gdzie na podwórkach biegały dzieci, kury i świnie a żywe, zdecydowane kolory owych domków ostro kontrastowały z czerwoną, oświetloną popołudniowym słońcem ziemią. Droga wiodła w pagórkowatym terenie lecz wkrótce dotarliśmy do „skrótu” – drogi gruntowej, którą zamierzaliśmy jechać dalej. Zatrzymaliśmy się przy niewielkim sklepiku by uzupełnić zapasy i załatać dętkę. Sprzedawcy, jak i kupujący wylegli zaciekawieni przed sklep i bacznie obserwowali łatanie dętki, nie spuszczając z nas oczu ani na chwilę 🙂 Rozbawiło nas też nico odkrycie, że ludzie tutaj boją się lasu. Właściciel sklepu ostrzegał nas, że jazda tą droga nieasfaltową jest niebezpieczna bo trzeba przejechać 15 kilometrów przez pustkowie. Jak się nie trudno domyśleć nie robiło to na nas wrażenia ale z ciekawości dopytywaliśmy co jest niebezpieczne na tym pustkowiu – zwierzęta czy jacyś ludzie czy może ruch niebezpieczny? A na to mężczyzna odpowiada, że niebezpiecznie jest dlatego, że jest las! Zadziwiło nas to, że ludzie żyjący na wsiach, czyli bądź co bądź jednak bliżej natury mogą tak po prostu bać się lasu. Później jeszcze u kilku spotkanych osób ujawniły się te same obawy lecz najzabawniejsze było to, że las, który najwyraźniej budził w nich grozę dla nas nie był w ogóle lasem a co najwyżej maleńkim laskiem, który stanowił tylko wspomnienie po dawnej świetności subtropikalnej dżungli, która niegdyś rozciągała się na obszarze wielu kilometrów w rejonie wodospadów Iguazu. Byli też i tacy, którzy widząc nas na tej gruntowej drodze bez asfaltu oznajmiali nam, że się zgubiliśmy i mimo, że prowadziła tam dokąd chcieliśmy dojechać, uparcie kazali nam wracać do głównej drogi, na asfalt! Nie wróciliśmy jednak. Rozumieliśmy doskonale skąd brały się te wszystkie obawy – ludzie ci z pewnością nigdy nie podróżowali dalej niż do sąsiedniej wioski a wszystko, co znajdowało się poza ich światem było niepewne i budziło lęk.

Podróżowaliśmy w dużej mierze „na wyczucie”. Mapa, o której już wcześniej pisałam, to był prawdziwy ewenement! Zupełnie jakby została stworzona przez dziecko, które nieuważnie przerysowało jakiś schemat z tablicy. Główna mapa nie pokrywała się z tym, co pokazywały powiększenia wybranych rejonów, zamieszczone na jej odwrocie. Niektóre miasteczka znajdowały się w innych miejscach i układ dróg również był inny! Po kilku dniach jazdy mieliśmy też poważne wątpliwości co do tego, czy mapa w ogóle jest w skali! W połączeniu z informacjami i przestrogami, jakich udzielali nam lokalni, wszystko to wyglądało czasem dość zabawnie 🙂

Spaliśmy w namiocie na podwórkach u ludzi, czasem na jakiejś stacji benzynowej lub po prostu przy drodze. Jednak znacznie trudniej znaleźć było takie dzikie miejsca na spanie, gdyz większość terenów była zagospodarowana i przeznaczona pod uprawy lub hodowlę bydła. Było to tym bardziej zastanawiające, że większość towerów, w tym żywności, sprzedawana w sklepach pochodziła nie z rodzimej produkcji lecz z Brazylii. Wyglądało też na to, że przemysł praktycznie w tym kraju nie istnieje… Lecz był za to spokój, cisza, leniwe popołudnia, zielona trawa, błękitne niebo i wieczory z rozgwieżdżonym niebem. Którejś nocy spaliśmy przy polu kukurydzy. Wieczorem siedzieliśmy przy herbacie, ciesząc się tym jakimi jesteśmy szczęściarzami – mieliśmy całkiem smaczne kanapki, rower i wystarczająco dużo siły by na nim jechać. Mieliśmy czas dla siebie i na to by spoglądać na drogę mleczną nad naszymi głowami, która wyglądała jak świecący, rozciągnięty na niebie obłok i wsłuchiwać się w odgłosy świerszczy i szelest liści kukurydzy subtelnie poruszanych wiatrem…

  • Po co się tak męczycie? – spytał nas policjant, stojący przy wiejskiej drodze, kiedy się dowiedział ile czasu już jedziemy i ile kilometrów przejechaliśmy.

Ja i Przemek spojrzeliśmy na siebie, uśmiechając się.

  • Aventura! (przygoda) – odpowiedziałam. Czy był by w stanie zrozumieć, że tak naprawdę przemierzając rowerem świat jesteśmy po prostu szczęśliwi? A może wbrew pozorom zrozumiał lepiej niż mi się wydawało…

  • Suerte!  (powodzenia) – zawołał do nas, gdy odjeżdżaliśmy

Następnego dnia dotarliśmy do Curuguaty.
